Build, Refine & Master The Art Of Goldwork

When I first discovered Goldwork, I was completely captivated by the shimmer of metal threads, the elegance of the designs, and the level of technical skill required to execute them well. As my own work progressed, I found that even with experience, advanced techniques could still present moments of frustration. Techniques such as underside couching and shading over gold demand a higher level of precision, control, and understanding. Learning the finer details and the subtle adjustments required was ultimately what transformed my work from competent to truly refined. I know what it feels like to have a strong foundation and still struggle to achieve the smoothness, balance, and finish you’re aiming for. That is why I created this Level 3 course: to remove uncertainty from advanced Goldwork techniques and replace it with clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of assurance in your stitching.

A Quick Note Before You Start

You don’t need to have taken Level 2 to join Level 3 — all experienced embroiderers are welcome! That said, Level 3 builds on a range of foundational techniques, so it’s important that you already feel confident with the following: felt padding, soft string padding, basic couching, plunging and tying back, pearl purl, basic cutwork, chipping, as well as card and vilene padding, and carpet felt padding. These are not covered in this course, as they are taught in Level 1 and 2, so having a solid understanding will help you get the most out of Level 3.

Think of it as making sure you have all the essential skills in place so you can focus on the advanced techniques with ease, precision, and confidence!

Imagine This......

  • You’re confidently executing advanced techniques such as underside couching, Italian shading, and Or Nué with precision and control.

  • You’re learning and stitching fun techniques such as wheatear, burden stitch, and couching over card and achieving beautiful results.

  • You’re exploring historical techniques, patterns and shading with ease, taking your Goldwork skills to a truly advanced level.
