Deep Dive Into Beading - Hybrid
An in-depth course that explores a wide variety of bead and sequin applications along with fringing, weaving, canvas beadwork, and tambour in a new Hybrid style format.
Deep Dive into Beading is a three-term course running from September 2026 to July 2027. It's carefully structured to guide you through foundational, intermediate, and advanced stages of working with beads and sequins. Each term brings a new set of skills from traditional bead application processes to alternative bead uses and high fashion beading techniques such as Tambour.
Term 1: We’ll begin with the basics, learning how to apply beads and sequins in a variety of techniques, along with turning corners, filling shapes and three-dimensional bead and sequin applications. We'll also be looking at surface stitches worked with beads, borders, and bead and sequin flowers.
Term 2: We'll be exploring alternative techniques, such as canvas beadwork, bead weaving, fringing, padding for beadwork and crystal application.
Term 3: In the final term, we will focus on tambour beading. In the first half of the term you will learn the basic chain stitch, how to start and finish along with bead and sequin application. In the second half of term three, we will put everything you've learned into practice by working a simple design.
